Team TheraPLACE is looking for team members for the 2016 Steps to Independence Walk!
(August 22, 2016) – TheraPLACE Learning Center is pleased to announce its participation in the 2016 Steps to Independence Walk supporting Down Syndrome of Louisville (DSL). This is the third year for their participation and Team TheraPLACE plans to expand their team with new walkers.
The Down Syndrome of Louisville's "Steps to Independence" Walk/Fun Run will celebrate the lives of individuals with Down syndrome and their accomplishments. The Lifelong Learning Centers, located in Louisville and Corydon, provide innovative and research-based education and development for all ages of individuals with Down syndrome. The Walk is DSL's largest annual fundraiser and continues to help them grow programs and services for their members in Kentucky and Southern Indiana.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – (August 11, 2016) – TheraPLACE Learning Center is pleased to announce its sponsorship in the Changing the Face of Beauty Headshot Clinic in Louisville, KY on Friday, August 12 and Saturday, August 13. This is the first time the nationally recognized campaign will hold a headshot clinic for people living with disabilities in the state of Kentucky.
Changing the Face of Beauty is a national movement to empower people living with disabilities by advocating for inclusive imagery, thus changing perceptions and igniting futures in the media and advertising industries. Changing the Face of Beauty has coordinated with over 100 retailer companies educating them on what products look like on models with and without disabilities when pictured together and inclusion in their advertising.
