Music Therapy

Music therapy is the clinical and evidence based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic environment.  Music therapy is also FUN and INTRINSICALLY MOTIVATING for children!  During therapy, the musical experience facilitates improvement in cognitive development skills, receptive and expressive language, fine and gross motor skills, self-esteem, and creativity. For these reasons, music therapy is an excellent addition to occupational, physical, and speech therapy sessions.  It also is great as an adjunctive therapy allowing music therapists to carry over goals from other therapy types. Music therapy can be provided at the same time as another therapy, with the therapists working together using a holistic approach to ensure optimal gains.  It can also take place in a one on one or group setting.

Groups
Small groups are forming!  These groups are goal oriented, focusing on cognitive, motor, speech and social development, all through having a great time exploring music!
